Conquest of elysium 5 review5/20/2023 We usually have a game or two over at Qt3 and just started up a new/old player team disciple game which can be a good way to learn some new concepts in a hurry. Dfs is right that it truly shines in MP when you can experience what other players can come up with. I am in the minority, but I can still have a great deal of fun in single player exploring new nations and strategies even though the AI doesn't challenge the same way a human player can. If you can spend the time to learn the game and get past the older UI/graphics, there really is no rival to what it has to offer in depth and character. My time with Dominions goes back to early 2004 shortly after Dominions 2 was released and my gaming life wouldn't be the same without this series of games. I believe we have been in at least a couple MP games together over the years. As a matter of fact that community has split and moved to several message boards. There used to be a group here at OO that played. I would very much advise you to take the multiplayer plunge and put the time and energy into playing dominions. When I retire.I will certainly try and pick this game back up. I stopped playing dominions not because I was tired of the game, but because I needed the time that I was investing in that game to do other things in my life. Dominions games can take months, but years later I can hold forth for a couple of hours talking about what happened in games that I played years ago. The stunts that real people can pull with as complex a system as dominions will spoil you when you come back try and play against computer players. Picked it back up and then started playing some multiplayer games. OTOH Dominions held my interest for years. It's exactly the type of game I pine for.but it's never really held my interest for more than an evening or so. COE has never held my interest for more than an hour or two. If you wait, you can likely pick up both of them for $20us. Both games can be had fairly cheaply on steam. Dominions is FANTASTICALLY documented but it's not always documented within the game.ĭeep.ha ha ha ha. The information you want may be there, but it will not always be easy to find and even if it is easy to find you may not understand why it's important.ĭocumented. The graphics to both of these games are frankly pretty comical. If you are used to something that holds your hand like civ, it will be an uphill battle for you. The UI to both of these games is NOT intuitive at all. I'm ashamed to admit I tend to rage-quit games where the UI is not pretty clear as to what I am supposed to do to perform the usual tasks. Graphics don't matter as long as the interface is clear and communicates the necessary information without a lot of fuss.
